Bribe charge: CBI SP, police inspector held

The CBI sleuths have arrested its Superintendent of Police (SP) and an inspector for allegedly accepting bribe near the CBI headquarters in the national capital.

The inspector accepted the money to settle a land dispute.

A CBI special team of Vigilance Department arrested Inspector Rajesh Karnatak red-handed while accepting Rs 7 lakh bribe outside the CBI headquarters.

Karnatak allegedly accepted the amount on behalf of SP Vivek Dutt, who is also the chief investigating officer of the coal blocks allocation scam.

The CBI sources clarified that the bribery case in which Dutt has been nabbed has got nothing to do with the coal scam investigations.

Meanwhile, the CBI sources said that some other officers would be appointed to investigate the coal scam case.
