Sports Ministry calls up IPL Chairman

In the wake of the spot fixing row, Union Sports Minister Jitendra Singh has underlined the need to ensure ethical practices in Cricket.

And the minister called up IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla to discuss the issue and “impressed upon him the need to take urgent steps to put in place a mechanism to prevent such unethical activities and to ensure clean sports in the country”, according to ministry officials.

The minister also stressed that stringent action should be taken against all those found guilty.
