Congress playing petty politics, says BJP

As the Congress mounted a no-holds-barred attack on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh over the deadly Naxal attack that wiped out its state leadership, the BJP accused the former of playing petty politics.

The Congress has demanded Singh’s resignation over his government’s failure to provide adequate protection to its leaders.

BJP spokesperson  Prakash Javadekar said, “BJP has exercised restraint regarding the dastardly attack by Naxals...We have not indulged in a blame game due to a sense of responsibility. But Congress is going berserk and indulging in petty politics by blaming the state government.”

, Meanwhile, Singh is likely to call an  all-party meeting to discuss the situation and seek views from across the political spectrum on how to deal with the issue. Singh had earlier acknowledged that there was a security lapse but rejected the charge that adequate security was not provided to the leaders.
