A person was shot dead by some men of his village in an inebriated state in Ushait area here, police said today.
The incident took place last night when Arab Singh (31) was sitting outside his home in Mallaha Nagla village and objected to drinking of liquor by one Bablu and 3-4 others there, following which they opened fire at him, they said.
Singh was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection, they said, adding that they have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
