Five members of a family including three children were charred to death and a minor child sustained severe burns after a fire broke out inside their house under mysterious circumstances in South East Delhi’s Zakir Nagar on the wee hours of Thursday.
The family was staying in a one-room rented flat that shared a common wall with a neighbour. However, none of the people living in the neighbourhood heard their screams when the fire broke out. It was only after people smelt the smoke that they realised that the fire has broken out. The incident took place around 1:30 am when all the family members were asleep.
