300 Crows Die Under Mysterious Circumstances

TARN TARAN: Close on the heels of deaths of ducks at Sukhna lake in Chandigarh, over 300 crows have died under mysterious circumstances in neighbouring Tarn Taran district. 

Confirming the incident Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Balwinder Singh Dhariwal today said that all the dead crows were buried after they were found dead at village Bigayari falling in the district Tarn Taran.            

He said that samples have been sent to Chandigarh to find out the cause of death of more than three hundred crows under mysterious circumstances.        

Dhariwal said that Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry of the district have been asked to remain alert and remain in touch with the state headquarters and experts in the field.  

The deaths of crows caused panic among poultry farm owners in the region.       

Recently, after one of the geese was tested positive for avian influenza, after their death at Chandigarh's Sukhna lake, some 110 ducks were culled to prevent possible spread of bird flu in the region in Chandigarh.
