At least eight people, including college girl students, were killed after a portion of the Bildwar cave collapsed in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh
According to initial reports, the victims were at the Lord Shiva temple situated inside the cave. As per reports the three women were students of a local college and others were working in a nearby sugar factory. The tragedy reportedly took place at 3 pm.
Bildwar cave is located in Tamor Pingla Wild Life Sanctuary, 350 km north of the state capital Raipur and is a well known local tourist attraction.
So far police have recovered eight bodies. Unconfirmed reports indicated the presence of at least three more bodies in the caves, which was, however, denied by the police. State Home Minister Ram Sevak Paikra said he was monitoring the situation and added that senior police officers have already reached the spot.
