The Delhi BJP on Wednesday came down heavily on the AAP-ruled state government and said that power tariff has been hiked by eight per cent contrary to the assurances made by the party, which promised a 50 per cent slash in tariff.

BJP Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel said it is not just power, but water tariff too has been hiked by 10 per cent. The government has not regularised employees working on contract basis and massive transfers have been happening in every government department.

A political resolution passed by the Delhi BJP state executive after deliberations for more than five hours at the state executive stated: “Delhi is currently being ruled by a bunch of political mercenaries -- hired, supported and controlled by the Congress. The words and actions of AAP leaders expose the fact that it is a Maoist outfit.”  In its resolution, the BJP thanked the people of Delhi for the support it extended to the party making it the single largest party. Addressing the state executive, Goel urged the party workers to go all out to expose the AAP and work at the grassroot level to ensure that the BJP wins all seven Lok Sabha seats.

“The AAP and the Congress are two sides of the same coin and the Congress should withdraw support if it does not agree with the policies of the AAP. Instead of delivering on its promises, the AAP has been trying to divert the attention of the people away from its failures by creating political drama and indulging in mudslinging,” Goel said.

“AAP’s Jan Lokpal is a political stunt. It should dismiss corrupt ministers and focus on strengthening the Lokayukta if it is really serious about tackling corruption. The attempts by the Congress to obstruct Narendra Modi’s victory march will not succeed. The BJP workers are fully geared up to ensure a historic victory for the party in the Lok Sabha polls in all seven Parliament seats,” Goel added.

Addressing the state executive, the newly appointed Delhi BJP in-charge Prabhat Jha said: “I am confident that if we all work together with clear focus, then victory will be ours.”
