A 16-year-old girl was abducted and gang-raped by two of her neighbours here, police said Thursday. The attackers have been arrested.
The incident took place in north Delhi's Timarpur area Wednesday night.
The girl had gone to a market when the two men -- Kapil, 24, and Kishan, 22 -- abducted her and took her to an isolated area. They raped the girl in turns.
"A Delhi Police constable was patrolling in the area when he heard the girl screaming and shouting. He immediately alerted the staff members and the attackers were nabbed from the spot," a police officer told IANS.
The girl was taken to hospital for medical examination and her parents were informed. The accused, who worked as labourers, live in her neighbourhood, police said.
