'AAP Went Back on Promises'
The Opposition BJP on Monday said the AAP, which had vowed action against the corrupt ministers and officials of the erstwhile Sheila Dikshit Government if elected to power, had gone back on its promise owing to the alleged tacit understanding between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and DPCC chief Arvinder Singh Lovely.
“The AAP which was talking of sending the corrupt ministers and officials under the Dikshit Government to jail, is now busy protecting the corrupt Congressmen due to the connivance between Arvind (Kejriwal) and Arvinder (Singh, Congress leader),” said Leader of Opposition, Harshvardhan. Also, the party, while describing Lt Governor Najib Jung’s address to the state Assembly as deeply disappointing, said the hopes and expectations of the people of Delhi from the AAP Government were shattered.
The Lieutenant Governor, in his address to the Assembly on Monday, said that the state government intended to take all steps to end corruption in government departments. “Passing the version of Lokpal Bill for which Anna Hazareji had to undertake a fast will be a priority for the government,” he said.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas tendered an apology for his comments on Muharram.“My aim was not to hurt the sentiments of anyone. The video clipping was edited before it was released,” Vishwas said.
“I had said this sometime in 2005. BJP edited it and uploaded the 48-second clip on its official handle.” he added.
