Bomb Explodes at the House of Congress MLA

A powerful bomb hurled by suspected militants exploded at the house of a Congress legislator in Sangaiporou area on the outskirts of the capital complex, but no one was injured, police said today.

The bomb was hurled at the gate of the heavily guarded house of MLA N Loken last evening.

The explosion was so powerful that the sound was heard from a distance of about a few kms.

Loken and his family members were inside the house at the time of the explosion which damaged parts of the building, police said, adding no one was injured in the incident.
