AAP Fabric Losing Stitches as Rebel MLA Calls CM Autocrat
Rumblings within the Aam Aadmi Party were heard in the open on Thursday when MLA Vinod Kumar Binny accused party convenor Arvind Kejriwal of being an autocrat, and alleged that the AAP government’s decisions are influenced by the Congress, as Kejriwal is a close friend of Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit.
Kejriwal was hesitant to act against leaders of the previous Congress regime in Delhi for this reason, he asserted.
“Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh and Arvind Kejriwal are the core group of AAP. They are the ones who take all decisions,” said Binny. “If anybody tries to reason out with Arvind, he gets angry and shouts,” he claimed. He said the AAP core group was hungry for publicity and had a way with words.
Stating that the party was drifting from its promises, Binny went so far as to say that 90 per cent of Delhiites felt cheated because AAP has not kept its word. He said he would begin a hunger strike on January 27 to get the party to walk the talk. Citing an example, Binny said, “The party promised 700 litres of water per day free of cost, but added a clause whereby anyone using more than 700 litres would be charged for full usage.” Referring to the gang-rape of a Danish woman in the capital, Binny asked what happened to AAP’s promise of improved security for women.
