Sunanda Pushkar, Minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife, was in no way insecure as far as wealth and financial solvency goes. Her declared assets uploaded on the Prime Minister’s website along with her husband Tharoor’s is as stunning as her looks were.
Among the riches are 12 apartments in Dubai, a house in Canada, land in Jammu and a mysterious sword from the era of emperor Humayun, no less! And an antique suit of armour and inherited Shahtoosh shawls—all locked in storage in Canada and declared on the PMO website.
Her worth—`112 crore—easily made her one of the richest among wives of Indian ministers. She is said to have drawn up a will, three months ago, taking into account the “uncertainties” of life. According to a corporate lawyer friend, Rohit Kochhar, she was favourably disposed to Tharoor at that point of her life. So, as per Hindu law, her assets—properties and money—could be divided between the only son and the husband.
