Against the backdrop of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's dharna near Raisina Hill, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called on President Pranab Mukherjee and is understood to have discussed the situation.

Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said the two met but refused to divulge any further details about what transpired.

The two may have discussed the unprecedented situation of an elected Chief Minister holding protests and threatening to virtually disrupt the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations five days away.

The upcoming Parliament session may have also briefly figured in the discussion.
