Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Friday claimed that UPA-III Government would be formed at the Centre and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be the next Prime Minister.

Shinde has claimed that the UPA-III would be in power after the elections and Rahul would be the next Prime Minister while addressing public in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

On Chennai blasts, Shinde said that the Centre is ready to assist the state but the request has to come from the Tamil Nadu Government. He alleged that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is not doing any political debate but is only attacking Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul.

“There is no reference to policies, programmes and ideology in the speeches of Modi which are focused only on individuals,” Shinde said.

Accusing Modi of distorting facts, he said: “We never heard about his ‘chaiwala’ (tea-seller) for the past 14 years. He has suddenly started exploiting it to woo voters, but the people will not be misled by such gimmicks.”

He said the saffron party has sidelined it’s senior leaders like A B Vajpayee, L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Jaswant Singh and only Modi is left.

On Modi’s talk about Gujarat model of development, he said 2,000 textile units have been closed in Gujarat and thousands of workers have been rendered jobless.

Himachal Pradesh has made tremendous progress and the development model of the state was better than Gujarat, he claimed. Shinde also questioned, “why did not the BJP, who is now claiming to bring back Dawood Ibrahim brought him back when NDA was in power.”

Shinde said that Congress would win all four seats in the state this time.
