TMC MLA Deepali Saha Charged With Poll Rigging

Following directions from the Election Commission, the Bankura district administration in West Bengal has lodged an FIR regarding the rigging of elections against a Trinamool Congress MLA and police are on the lookout for her. Ten men arrested in the case were remanded in police custody on Thursday. After receiving complaints and on the basis of video footage,  the poll panel asked the district administration to register an FIR against Deepali Saha who along with other TMC workers allegedly rigged the voting at some booths in the Bishnupur Lok Sabha constituency. Police registered a complaint against 20 TMC workers, including the MLA, but could arrest only 10 of them. However, police couldn’t find her at her home and in her constituency. Local TMC leaders said she was busy collecting reports about polling in other areas of the Parliamentary constituency.
