Pharma Student Dies After Being Set Ablaze

In a ghastly incident, a young Pharmacology student, who suffered third degree burns after being set ablaze by three of her batchmates over a failed love plea, died in a private hospital in Indore on Sunday. The outrage took place at Ozhara village in Khargone, some 100 km from here.

Deceased Nidhi Agrawal, 20, was a final year B Pharm student at the GRY Institute of Pharmacy, which is run by state Congress chief Arun Yadav. According to police, accused trio -- Ankit Rathore, 21,of Indore;Vishal Choudhary, 21,from Khandwa and Akshay Joshi,20,belonging to Dhar -- entered the victim’s house while her family members were away.

“The parents of the girl had gone to Indore for a marriage function. As the accused were aware of this, they entered her house through the backdoor. After bolting the door from inside, the gang doused the girl with kerosene before setting her alight,” a police official said.
