BANGALORE: Confident that their Bangalore candidates would romp home, the BJP leaders have placed huge orders for sweets and crackers.
“I have asked a caterer to make 100 kg of Mysore Pak for Friday. We will distribute the sweets at major junctions in our ward,” said N R Ramesh, BJP councillor for Yediyur. Ramesh is certain Ananth Kumar would win the Bangalore South seat.
Mohan Raju, BJP Bommanahalli Assembly unit president, is equally confident. All eight wards in his constituency are represented by the BJP, and the MLA is also from the party. “In Bommanahalli Assembly alone, we will get a lead of 25,000 votes for Ananth Kumar,” he said.
He has ordered fireworks worth `5 lakh: party workers would burst crackers worth `50,000 to `75,000 in each ward. Raju has ordered 60 kg of dry jamoon. “We plan to go to apartment complexes to distribute sweet boxes,” he said. Anil Chalageri of the BJP is confident that D V Sadananda Gowda would win the Bangalore North constituency.
“Besides the party, volunteers are ordering sweets,” he said. They plan to take out a bike rally and distribute sweets across the constituency. Officially, the BJP is already in celebration mode. In fact, @bjpkarnataka has tweeted: “You all are invited to join the victory celebrations with us at BJP state HQ, Temple street Malleshwaram tomorrow 8 am onwards.”
