NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shifted to his official residence at 7 Race Course Road, five days after his swearing-in. He will be staying at the bungalow number 5, which was also the residence of former Prime Ministers Atal Behari Vajpayee and Rajiv Gandhi while his office will function from bungalow number 7. According to sources, Modi went to 7 Race Course Road on Friday morning before going to the PMO. Spread across 12 acres, the complex has sprawling lawns and gardens with a variety of flora and fauna. A tunnel is also being constructed to take Modi from 7 RCR to Safdarjung Airport from where he can take helicopters. The work on the tunnel started in 2010 and is likely to be operational soon.
