Bombscare Near Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics at Saltlake

An unclaimed briefcase created bombscare near the premier Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) at Saltlake near here, the police said.

KOLKATA: An unclaimed briefcase today created bombscare near the premier Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) at Saltlake near here, the police said.

The briefcase was found near a canal beside the SINP, an institution of basic research and training in physical and biophysical sciences, which functions under the Department of Atomic Energy.

Bomb disposals squad rushed to the spot and policemen cordoned off the area.

However, no bomb was found in the briefcase which was seized, the police said.
