KOLKATA: The accidental explosion in a house in Bardhman district of West Bengal last week has exposed a conspiracy by terror outfits in India and Bangladesh to wage terror attacks all over the country and destroy large industrial establishments in Bangladesh.

After unearthing ties between the Jamaat-e-Islami and disgraced Saradha Group, involved in the multi-crore chit fund scam spanning five states, the CBI informed the Ministry of External Affairs(MEA) that Bangladesh-based terrorist outfits were planning to carryout terror strikes in West Bengal.

The mastermind behind the operation to recruit ‘jihadis’ and execute terror attacks, Abdul Qader Sultan Armar, who hails from the coastal town of Bhatkal in Karnataka, is  presently operating from Waziristan in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province along the Afghanistan border.

Officers of Central intelligence agencies on Wednesday carried out investigations in various places in Bardhaman district to collect incriminating evidence against the “multi-nation terror module” and links between Islamic terror organisations in India and Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the state police on Wednesday arrested two Jamaat leaders-- hailing from Saatkhira district in Bangladesh-- from Hasnabad in North 24 Parganas after they crossed the Ichamati River. Farooque Hussain Sardar and Saddam Hossain were carrying large amounts of fake Indian currency notes(FICN) when they were apprehended while trying to board a bus from a terminus at Hasnabad.

Abdul and his brother Shafi were leaders of the Indian Mujahdeen, who after receiving training from al-Qaeda camps in Bangladesh and Pakistan, currently operate from Waziristan and have founded the Ansar-ul- Tauhid Hind.

The sleuths, after inspecting the house at Khagragarh in Bardhaman, where the explosion took place, recovered ‘jihadi’ literature including propaganda material, campaign video tapes with footage from al-Qaeda training camps dubbed in Hindi, Urdu, Bengali and Tamil.
