122 Truant Government Officials Suspended in Jammu and Kashmir

As many as 122 government officials have been suspended in Kishtwar district by the Jammu and Kashmir government after they were found absent during the duty hours.

JAMMU: As many as 122 government officials have been suspended in Kishtwar district by the Jammu and Kashmir government after they were found absent during the duty hours.

The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Javed Khan, yesterday suspended 122 officials who were found absent from the duty during surprise inspection by district administration teams across the district, an official spokesman said today.

To check absenteeism in the government offices, the Deputy Commissioner had deputed ten teams of senior District Officers to conduct surprise inspection at the government offices across the district.

The teams, comprising District Officers and respective SDMs and tehsildars, inspected government offices in Kishtwar town, Dool, Drabshalla, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Palmar, Padder, Chatroo, Warwan, Marwah and Dachhan areas, he said.

122 employees including teachers, VSAs, para medical staff, clerical and field staff were found absent from their duties, spokesman said.

He also said that during the inspection, some medical dispensaries and health centres were also found closed.
