Three Drown as Boat Capsizes in Bihar

Three persons drowned, two others went missing when a boat capsized in Kamala river near Darbhanga.

DARBHANGA: Three persons drowned today and two others went missing when a boat capsized in Kamala river in the district.

The incident happened in Kushesharsthan police station area when the boat carrying about 32 people was on way to the district headquarter where they were going to acquire coupons for availing PDS subsidised ration.

The boat lost balance due to strong water current and capsized, Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) of Biraul, Mohammad Shafique said.

Three bodies have been fished out, while search is on for two others with the help of divers, the SDO said.

The rest swam to safety, he said.
