Chief Election Commissioner to Visit Patna Today

NEW DELHI: Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi and election commissioner Achal Kumar Joti will be visiting Patna today to review the preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

The duo will reportedly be meeting administration and police officials besides the representatives of various political parties before taking a call on fixing the poll schedule.

The Election Commission had published the final electoral rolls on July 31.

The assembly polls in Bihar would be held most likely in September or October this year.

The BJP, which along with its allies had won 31 of the 40 seats in Bihar in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, is set for a battle against a united Janata Parivar comprising of the JD (U) and RJD.
