JHANSI: Two children were today killed and eight injured when they were trying to extract metal from an unused grenade of army in Babina area, police said here.
Jhansi SSP Kiran S said that a few children found an unexploded grenade from the firing range near Dudki village this afternoon. While attempting to extract metal from it, the grenade exploded killing Bhupinder(14) and Abhinav(10) on the spot, he added.
Eight persons were injured in the incident and admitted to the medical college where the condition of some of them was stated to be serious, a state police headquarters spokesman said in Lucknow.
