Cremation of India's First Lady on Wednesday

The cremation of India\'s First Lady Suvra Mukherjee will be held at the Lodhi Road crematorium at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan release said.

NEW DELHI: The cremation of India's First Lady Suvra Mukherjee will be held at the Lodhi Road crematorium at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan release said.

She passed away at 10.51 a.m. on Tuesday after a cardiac arrest at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi.

"The body of Suvra Mukherjee will be kept at the Rashtrapati Bhavan from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today (Tuesday) for the family and friends to pay their last respects. Thereafter, the body will be shifted to her son's residence on Talkatora Road in Delhi," Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

"Suvra Mukherjee was suffering from a respiratory ailment and died after a cardiac arrest this morning. She was on ventilator till the time of her death," hospital public relations officer Sanjay Kumar told IANS.
