4 Dissident JD(U) MLAs Join BJP

PATNA: Four dissident  JD(U) legislators on Wednesday joined the BJP. The quartet-- Gayanendra Singh ‘Gayanu’, Rajeshwar Raj, Dinesh Kushwaha and Suresh Chanchal-- had earlier been suspended from the party for six years for voting against the JD(U) official candidate in last year’s Rajya Sabha byelection.

The legislators, who are known for their opposition to Chief Minister and JD(U) stalwart Nitish Kumar,joined the saffron party in the presence of Union Minister Rajeev Pratap Rudy and state BJP chief Mangal Pandey. Earlier, these MLAs had pledged their support to former CM  Jitan Ram Manjhi.
