Kamal Nath, Other Congress Leaders Arrested During Protest

Congress leader Kamal Nath, along with more than 3,000 party workers were arrested today while protesting against the "Vyapam scam".

JABALPUR: Congress leader Kamal Nath, along with more than 3,000 party workers were arrested today while protesting against the "Vyapam scam" as well as demanding Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj SinghChouhan's "resignation", a police official said.

Kamal Nath, along with Congress party spokesman Randeep Surjewala and Youth Congress president Amrinder Singh Brar, besides other Congress leaders were arrested at the Gol Bazaar area under Kotwali police station, the Jabalpur Superintendent of Police (SP) told PTI.

"Kamal Nath and other were arrested under Section 151 (apprehension of breach of peace) of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)," the police official said.

"They were let off after a while on personal bonds," Kotwali CSP Anil Ved told PTI.
