NEW DELHI: Congress leader P C Chacko said on Friday said that Pakistan is no one to say that the Hurriyat represents the people of Kashmir.
“Pakistan is nobody to pronounce Hurriyat as the official representative of Kashmir. More than 70 percent of the people of that state have voted in the elections of Jammu and Kashmir, and there is an elected government in that state,” said Chacko.
“They are elected by the people of the state and they are the true representatives of the state,” he added.
“The people in state have braved all odds voting amidst the fear of terror,” Chacko said.
“It is the elected government of Jammu and Kashmir government which is the representatives of the state, not the Hurriyat,” he added.
