Separatist Shabbir Shah Detained at Delhi Airport

Shah has remained adamant about meeting Aziz, saying the separatists will not back out of the talks between India and Pakistan.

NEW DELHI: Separatist leader Shabbir Shah who arrived in Delhi on Saturday for a meeting with Pakistani National Security Advisor Sartaz Ajiz ahead of NSA-level talks, was detained at the airport by the police.

Shah has remained adamant about meeting Aziz, saying the separatists will not back out of the talks between India and Pakistan.

"We will meet Pakistan NSA Sartaj Aziz ji at the Pakistan House this evening," Shah told the media here.

"We have been going since past 25 years to meet with Pakistan, be it the NDA Government led by Atal ji or the UPA," he added.

Asserting that peaceful dialogue is the only way to all resolve issues, he said: "If India doesn't hold talks how will peace be established in South-Asia?"

"We will not back out. We will go to Delhi and meet them. It is important for us to go so that we can seek answers from the Pakistan side also," he added.
