BJP Asks Kejriwal to Clarify His Stand on Congress, Lalu

PATNA: BJP took a dig at the bonhomiebetween Arvind Kejriwal and Nitish Kumar today and asked the Delhi Chief Minister to clarify his stand on Congress and RJD chief Lalu Prasad as "both symbolise corruption".

"Kumar is the mask of the Bihar government with theactual power being wielded by the RJD supremo who has beenconvicted in the fodder scam and has been barred from contesting polls," senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said in a statement.

Stating that about a "dozen scams" had taken place in Bihar during the 15-year-long RJD rule in the state and thatseveral ministers were jailed on corruption charges, Sushil Modi asked Kejriwal whether or not the Nitish Kumar government was surviving on that party's and Congress' support.

"Both Congress and RJD are synonymous to corruption," he said, adding that Kejriwal should also spell out whether by supporting Kumar was he not standing by the two parties and RJD chief and their corruption.

Sushil Modi also charged Kejriwal with forgetting his own tweet in which he had questioned the court for not passing an order for recovery of crores of rupees embezzled by the RJD chief in the multi-crore fodder scam and expressed disappointment with Prasad getting lighter punishment of fiveyears imprisonment and Rs 25 lakh penalty post his conviction in the scandal.

Observing that the Bihar Chief Minister has shaken handswith Prasad whose party's rule was widely described as 'jungleraj', Modi asked Kejriwal whether voting for the senior JD(U) leader in the state Assembly polls will not amount to bringing it back in Bihar.

"If it were so, what message is the Delhi Chief Minister sending to the people by extending firm support to Kumar," he asked.
