Hizbul Ultra Asks Youth to Join Jehad

SRINAGAR:  Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani, who has become the new face of militancy in Kashmir, has released a first-ever video message in which he talks about ‘jehad’.

Burhan, 21, in the video asks Kashmiri youth to join militancy, he cautions young boys and girls not to become informers for the Army and police and tells police personnel not to harass the family members and stop fighting against them.

In the five minute 38 second video clip circulated through WhatsApp and other social networking sites, Burhan says they have taken to guns to stop the “oppression” against the Kashmiri people. “We have support of people of the Valley,” said Burhan in the video. He urged the youth to join the militant ranks and support them.

He, however, said if it was not possible for the youth to join militant ranks, then they should support the militants through other means.

Burhan also quoted Quranic verses on jehad and said he and his associates have left their families, comfort and sacrificed their future for safeguarding the sanctity of the women (sisters and mothers) and to establish ‘Khilafah” in Kashmir and the world.

He announced amnesty for all the people, who he said have gone astray.

Burhan has also given last warning to the youth, who have become informers. “They should desist from their activities and if they continue with their activities, then they should be ready for death. They should boycott India and should not support it on any front,” he said.

The Hizbul militant, who carries a reward of `10 lakhs on his head, praised Sikh youth for supporting the militants. “We have never faced any problem from their side”.

He also had an advice for religious preachers and clerics in the Kashmir. “The ulemas should give sermons on the present condition of Kashmir,” he said adding talking only about Hajj, fasting and ‘zakat’ is not enough. “They should tell people what is truth and not hide it. The preachers should know that our Prophet Muhammad participated in 80 wars,” he said.
