GUWAHATI: Mikhail Bora, son of media baron Indrani Mukherjea who was arrested for her alleged role in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, on Thursday said he could be the next target of his mother.
“I don’t have any problem going to Mumbai to help the ongoing police investigation, but I should be allowed to take along some of my friends. Some high-profile people are involved in the case and I cannot risk my life. I may be the next target of my mother. She is very powerful and can do anything she wants,” he told reporters here.
Mikhail, who was quizzed by a two-member Mumbai police team here on Thursday, insisted that two nurses should be assigned to look after his ailing grandparents round the clock in case he were to go to Mumbai to help the probe.
“They are very sick and if I leave them unattended, they will die,” he said.
Indrani was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of her daughter Sheena. Her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver have also been arrested in the case.
Mikhail claimed that Indrani and Khanna also had plans to kill him and his grandparents to grab the property in Guwahati. He claimed that he was in possession of pictorial as well as audio evidence of phone conversation between his mother and several suspects. “I will give the evidence to the police if they ask for it. After all, Sheena was my elder sister and I want justice for her,” Mikhail said.
A senior police officer told Express that Mikhail Bora will be taken to Mumbai on Friday. “He (Mikhail) was interrogated by a Mumbai police team at his Sundarpur residence as well as at Dispur police station. He has submitted some documents, which will establish that Indrani is their (Mikhail and Sheena) biological mother,” the officer said. Mikhail, told reporters that his mother Indrani “can go to any extent for fame and money”.
Meanwhile, Sanjeev Khanna, former husband of Indrani Mukherjea, arrested by the Mumbai police here was on Thursday remanded to transit remand till September 1 by the Alipore court.
