CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday undertook an aerial survey of rain-affected areas in Tamil Nadu and announced Rs.1,000 crore as interim assistance towards relief and rescue operations in Tamil Nadu.  Already, the Centre had announced Rs.939.40 crore to the State.
