Released from Jammu Jail, 3 Pakistan Nationals Leave India for Home

ATTARI: Three Pakistani nationals, released from a Jammu jail in a goodwill gesture, were repatriated to Pakistan here today.

According to officials, the trio -- Ashiq Ali, Mohammed Rafiq and Syed Asif Ali Shah -- were handed over to Pakistani Rangers by Border Security Force at Attari/Wagah Indo-Pak international border.

The trio crossed over to Pakistan on the basis of 'Emergency Travel Certificate' issued by the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi.

Ashiq Ali, a resident of Blochistan, was arrested six years ago and sent to Jammu jail, while Mohammed Rafiq, a resident of Gujrat district of Pakistan, underwent three years' imprisonment.

Syed Asif Ali Shah was a resident of Multan are of Pakistan and had served around three-and-a-half years in jail in Jammu after being arrested for illegally crossing the border.
