Akhilesh to Inaugurate 660 MW Unit at Harduaganj Power House

ALIGRAH: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is scheduled to inaugurate a 660 MW unit at the Harduaganj Thermal power house tomorrow at Qasimpur near here.

"Besides this new unit the CM will also inaugurate 46.5 crores project for building electricity sub stations in the district," Chairman of UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Sanjay Agarwal said.

The CM is also expected to announce the establishment of a bird sanctuary at Shikha lake, about 20 Km from here.

Tourism Adviser of UP government Khwaja Halim said that a proposal to this effect has already been cleared by the department and is expected to be cleared in tomorrow's meeting of the state cabinet.

Meanwhile, a group of students today announced that they would begin an indefinite hunger strike at the Dharamsamaj Degree college to press for their longstanding demand for establishing a new state Universty at Aligarh.

They have been holding protests here for the past few days ever since the Chief Minister's programme was finalised.
