NEW DELHI: The government on Friday challenged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to reveal the name of his source in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who had informed him that the agency has been asked to target all those opposed to the NDA regime.

Talking to ANI outside parliament, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitender Singh pointedly asked Kejriwal to name the CBI officer who gave him this information and accused him of attempting to place another intelligence body over the CBI.

“When he says that a certain officer from the CBI comes and shares the information with him, is this what is expected from a chief minister?” he asked.

“Secondly, a CBI officer or any other intelligence officer is not expected to share his responsibilities. A certain amount of confidentiality is expected. So, who is this officer, he (Kejriwal) should name him,” he added.

Singh further reiterated that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the government doesn’t interfere in the working of the CBI.

“If Kejriwal and if someone like that is trying to imagine, then he is possibly going through ‘hallucination’, possibly trying to live in the times of the Congress when the Congress possibly indulged in this kind of interference, but certainly not this government,” he added.

Amidst the ongoing controversy relating to the CBI raid on the Delhi Secretariat, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the investigation agency has been asked by the ruling dispensation to target those who do not fall in line.

“A CBI officer told me yesterday that CBI has been asked to target all opposition parties n finish those who don't fall in line,” Kejriwal wrote in a tweet.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been firing salvos at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley after the CBI raided the Delhi Secretariat.
