Disgruntled BJP Leader Monazir Hasan Expelled from Party

Cracking whip against dissidence for first time since reversal in Bihar polls, BJP expelled disgruntled Monazir for 6 yrs for anti-party activities.

PATNA: Cracking the whip against dissidence for the first time since reversal in Bihar assembly polls, the BJP today expelled its disgruntled leader Monazir Hasan for six years for "anti-party activities".

BJP state unit president Mangal Pandey told PTI that Hasan has been expelled from the party for six years for his anti-party activities.

He said that the disgruntled leader had slammed the BJP and its leadership in the wake of party's electoral defeat in Bihar last month.

Hasan, a former JD(U) leader, had joined the BJP early this year, but could not get a ticket for himself or his spouse in the assembly polls.

The dissident leader had recently criticised the BJP for creating an atmosphere of intolerance, particularly against the minorities.

Hasan had also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his aggressive electioneering in Bihar, which he claimed, had cost the BJP-led NDA dearly at the hustings.
