PM Modi Wishes Atal Bihari Vajpayee on His 91st Birthday

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his warm wishes to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 91st birthday.

Prime Minister Modi, who is currently in Kabul as part of his official tour, took to Twitter and said that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee always distinguished himself in every role, be it as a party leader, parliamentarian, minister or prime minister.

“Birthday greetings to our beloved Atal ji. We salute this great personality who provided exceptional leadership to India at a crucial time. Be it as a party leader, Parliamentarian, Minister, Prime Minister, Atal ji distinguished himself in every role. This is his speciality,” Prime Minister Modi said in a series of tweets.

After landing in Delhi this evening, Prime Minister Modi will head straight to Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s residence to personally wish him.

He also shared a classic poem written by Vajpayee in 1946 which was published in revered politician Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya’s weekly magazine ‘Abhudaya’.

Since coming to power last year, the Prime Minister Modi led-Government celebrates Vajpayee's birthday as 'Good Governance Day'.

The Prime Minister also paid tributes to Bharat Ratna, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya on his birth anniversary.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi said the people remember with pride his long lasting contribution to the nation.
