SAHARANPUR: Two minor boys were burnt to death in the district here when the hay bed on which they were sleeping caught fire, police said.
According to police, the matter was reported on Thursday night in Lodipur village in the Behati area of the district. Sawej (13) and Monish (10), two sons of one Liyaqat, a labourer, were burnt to death while they were asleep inside a room of their thathced hut.
SSP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma, meanwhile, said that Uttar Pradesh Cabinet minister Saheb Singh Saini instructed a delegation of Samajwadi Party leaders to call on the bereaved family.
The SP leaders told the family members that they will try and secure compensation from the state government for them.
