NEW DELHI: The BJP today slammed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his "silence" on the killings of two engineers of a private road construction company, and asked him to ignore "pressure" to save his government and take action.

BJP secretary Srikant Sharma said here that while extortions are on in the state, "Nitish Kumar is silent". "Come out of the pressure of saving your government and take action," he said.

He said if the situation continued to "deteriorate" in the state, BJP would launch an agitation in Bihar. Two engineers -- Brajesh Kumar and Mukesh Kumar – were yesterday shot dead by unidentified assailants on Darbhanga- Kusheshwarsthan state highway in Darbhanga district for allegedly refusing to pay extortion.
