NEW DELHI: A clash broke out between lawyers protesting against BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi and supporters outside election office in Bedi’s Krishna Nagar constituency on Saturday evening, leaving three persons injured.
“The clash was between a group of BJP workers and number of lawyers who were raising slogans against Bedi outside her campaign office,” said Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Baniwal.
The officer said the lawyers protesting against Bedi were opposed by BJP workers, resulting in a heated exchange of words which turned into a clash between the two sides.
“Three people have been injured in the incident. Nobody has filed a complaint in connection with the incident so far. No FIR has been filed yet,” he said.
Later in the evening, Bedi said that she cut short her rallies following the incident.
“My BJP constituency office in Krishna Nagar, (I) am informed, has been attacked. Informed some injured too. Cutting short rallies, rushing back,” she said.
