Moderate to Brisk Polling in Delhi Five Hours in Delhi

An estimated 63.46 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the Delhi Assembly polls till 5 PM.

NEW DELHI: Polling is underway for the 70-member Delhi Assembly polls in which AAP and BJP appeared to be the main contenders.

  • According to Delhi election commission, 5.40 percent votes were polled till 9 a.m.

  • Congress leader Ajay Maken reiterates that his party will not support AAP
  • Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and his mother casts their vote.

 

  • Polling takes place at 12,177 polling stations, of which 714 have been identified as "critical". Of these, 191 are "highly critical".
  • Critical polling booths has increased by 107 since the last Assembly elections.
  • Over 64,000 police personnel had been deployed across the city to ensure free and fair polls.
  • A total of over 1.33 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise. A total of 673 candidates are in the fray in the contest.
