Swine Flu Cases Surge to 36 in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Five more patients in the city have tested positive for swine flu, taking the total number of cases to 36 in the state capital, a senior health official said today.   

"Five new patients have been detected with HINI virus and they are being treated at their respective homes," Chief Medical Officer SNS Yadav said.          

With this, a total of 36 swine flu patients have been detected in Lucknow so far, he said.          

According to him, out of these patients, only three are admitted, which included two at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and one at King George Medical University.         

 A retired officer of the Indian Army died of H1N1 virus on January 9, while the wife of a retired jawan died on January 13 in the state capital.
