Modi Wave Hits Kejri-Wall

The verdict is a wake up call for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his NDA government to deliver tall promises he made during lok sabha election campaigning just 9 months back.

NEW DELHI: Delhi voters on Tuesday, handed over a humiliating defeat to BJP, uprooted Congress and offered an unparalleled sweeping mandate for Aam Aadmi Party. The verdict is a wake up call for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his NDA government to deliver tall promises he made during lok sabha election campaigning just 9 months back.

While, the voters who seem to have given another life to Kejriwal, who ran away from delhi government, dis- respecting the people sentiments a year back, will be no less under pressure than PM Modi to satisfy mountain like expectation of residents who seems to have little patience.

Hitesh Shankar, Editor of Panchanjya, magazine of RSS is of the view that landslide victory of AAP is explosion of people's aspiration. Shankar says people now wants delivery of the promises and it has to be quick.

" Aam Aadmi now wants delivery at 3G speed and no political party can ignore this," he added.
Though BJP has more or less retained the vote share, the party leaders concede that projecting former Team Anna Member, Kiran Bedi was a mistake. Another shortcoming in the electorate strategy was excessive negative campaign which party for the first time indulged in by targeting Kejriwal personally.

A Delhi BJP leader said party also realized that attempts to carpet over internal squabbling in state unit by micro- managing constituencies through central leadership has not yielded desired dividends.

For AAP, the shift of entire congress vote, evident in the oldest party drawing a blank for the first time in the national capital, catapulted their tally to 65 which is just five seats less in 70 member assembly.
