KOLKATA: Making a sarcastic comment on the drubbing the BJP suffered in the Delhi Assembly election, the Trinamool Congress today said it became "Bhaag Modi Bhaag" instead of "Bhaag Mamata Bhaag" - the BJP's slogan for 2016 Bengal Assembly poll.

"To paraphrase a tasteless slogan BJP uses in Bengal, let me say: The people of Delhi said today, 'Bhaag Modi Bhaag'. The BJP government has been politically evicted in a few months. Of course it is magic. People's magic," O'Brien, chief whip of the TMC Parliamentary Party in the Rajya Sabha, said in a tweet.

Addressing a rally along with BJP president Amit Shah, the saffron party's Bengal leader Sidharth Nath Singh said on November 30, "2014 Bhaag Madan Bhaag. 2015 Bhaag Mukul Bhaag. 2016 Bhaag Mamata Bhaag".

Madan Mitra, the state transport secretary is now in jail after being arrested by the CBI in the Saradha chit fund scam.

Mukul Roy is the all-India party general secretary who has recently faced CBI interrogation in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
