The Saffron Threesome!

NEW DELHI: All eyes are on the three BJP candidates who managed to withstand the AAP tsunami - Vijender Gupta, Jagdish Pradhan and Om Prakash Sharma. Interestingly, two of them are first-time MLAs and one had won in last Assembly polls.

Gupta, also a former Delhi BJP unit head, has won the MLA elections for the first time. Last time, the BJP fielded him against the then CM Sheila Diskhit and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. Gupta got 59,866 votes while C L Gupta of AAP scored 54,499, narrowly winning by a margin of nearly 5,000 votes.

In Vishwas Nagar, Om Prakash Sharma defeated AAP’s Atul Gupta by a respectable margin of over 10,000 votes.

In Mustafabad, BJP’s Jagdish Pradhan bagged 58,388 votes, defeating Congress Hasan Ahmed by a margin of 6,000 votes.
