Manjhi 'Offers' Berths for Votes

On the eve of floor test, the Bihar CM asks people to request to their MLAs to back him in the Assembly

PATNA:  A day ahead of his floor test, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Thursday gave another controversial speech in his final effort to garner support from MLAs.

Addressing Dalit Chetna Rally here, he promised people more welfare schemes works if they told their MLAs to side with him. “Go and tell your MLAs. If they want to become ministers, I too can fulfil this ambition,” he said without mincing his words.

The CM said that as he too was poor and came from the weaker section of society, it was thought that he would play into the hands of powerful forces, but when he refused to rely, his government was destabilised.

During the speech, he even lost cool and pulled up the crowd for creating disturbance and not listening to him.
