NEW DELHI: Congress member Rajeev Shukla today countered sangh parivar's argument on 'love jihad' as he cited names of a number of muslim girls related to Bollywood who had married hindus.

If Hindu girls marrying Muslim boys is called 'love jihad', then muslim girls marrying hindu boys should be called 'love pani-grahan' (hand-receiving ceremony among hindus), he said in the Rajya Sabha, while taking a dig at BJP.

He was participating in a debate on Motion of Thanks to President's Address.

To buttress his argument, he furnished names of muslim girls who have married hindu boys.

In this context, he mentioned Salman Khan's sisters marrying hindu boys, Sunil Dutt tie knot with Nargis, Hrithik Roshan marrying Sussanne Khan, Subhash Ghai marrying Rehana, Kamaljit marrying Waheeda Rehman, Kunal Kemu marrying Soha Ali Khan among others.

He said such issues should not be politicised as these were personal matters.
