KOLKATA: Claiming that men are the most marginalized section of the society, an NGO today demanded a seperate ministry for the welfare of men and setting up of a commission for issues affecting them.
Amit Gupta, President, National Coalition of Men, told PTI, "Men's rights have been neglected for the last six and a half decades. We feel that the new government should give priority to men's rights."
For starters, Gupta said at least 10 shelter homes should be constructed for homeless men across the country in each district.
Gupta said an appropriate forum should review the bias in legal system and make it gender neutral. "Time is ripe to undo the injustice done to Indian men and men's right activists have high hopes that a government will at last allocate them due share of gender budget for equality and social justice."
